If you use the VDOT 511 application, Iteris reserves the right to anonymously track and report your activity inside of the application. However, Iteris does not collect personally-identifying information about you when you use the VDOT 511 mobile application. Your location is only used to provide relevant information on factors affecting travel ahead on your route, and travel times to your selected destination. Statistics are only recorded regarding the frequency and length of usage of the screens of the app.
If you identify yourself by sending an e-mail from the app containing personally-identifying information, any such information will be collected and retained. Information collected in this manner is used solely for responding to requests for information or records. Iteris may forward your e-mail to either internal employees or external service providers who are better able to respond to you.
The VDOT 511 website and mobile application uses your location to identify start and end points while determining route information. The VDOT 511 mobile application also uses your location to center the map over your current location and to provide the look-ahead feature where the application will verbally announce events, issues and construction ahead of you on your current route. You maintain control of location services by controlling your browser and mobile settings. At no time does the VDOT 511 website collect or store active route information.
